My Practice

After an initial evaluation, I may provide treatment in the form of psychopharmacology (medication management) and/or insight oriented psychotherapy. I evaluate and treat individuals of all ages with any of a number of different diagnoses.

Since I am a physician, I am able to treat a number of complicated conditions involving the mind and the body. I collaborate closely with a number of area psychiatrists and therapists and can make referral recommendations as necessary. 

Mine is a private, solo practice. I am not affiliated with any hospitals and do not have admitting privileges. If a patient of mine needs an inpatient level of care, I will do my best to help facilitate admission and coordinate care with the inpatient treatment team.  If I have staff working for me, it is only part time. I am unable to provide the more extensive administrative or clinical support that may be required for some patients or families.

Appointments are typically available Monday through Friday. My office is located in downtown Portsmouth, a stone’s throw from the main (Hanover-High Street) Parking garage. Though my preference is in person, face to face appointments, I am able and willing to do evaluations and follow up appointments by phone and/or video. The HIPAA compliant video platform I use is Updox.

I am usually available outside of office hours through a paging system to deal with urgent questions or requests or emergencies.

Payment

All services provided are self pay. I have not signed contracts with any insurance providers. Depending on your insurance coverage, your insurer may provide reimbursement for my services, but it will be your responsibility to determine if or how reimbursement may be obtained. Regardless, payment (check, cash, any major credit or debit card) is expected at the time of service. I will provide you with a receipt that includes the necessary information for you to be reimbursed if your insurance plan provides coverage and if you choose to use your insurance.
